Eating for steady blood sugar has been my aim for 18 years. I built Bazu so anyone can aim for it too.
Bazu: Built by someone who gets it

Me at my desk, working on Bazu. I usually wear shorts and a t-shirt, but I dressed up for the occasion.
Hey there!
I'm JS, and I've lived with Type 1 diabetes for 18 years. For almost all of it, I've eaten the same way, built around the one goal every diabetic chases: keeping blood sugar as steady as you can. Fewer big spikes, fewer hard crashes, just balanced, real food, day after day.
Chasing that one goal changed how I feel more than anything else. My energy holds steadier through the day, the crashes and cravings got rarer, and eating became something easy instead of something I fought. It quietly became just how I live.
Then it clicked. What every diabetic aims for, steadier blood sugar, real food, fewer spikes, is what anyone would aim for to feel their best. You don't need diabetes to benefit from it, you just need a way to see it.
So I built Bazu. It scores any food from 0 to 95, shows the spike it tends to cause, and suggests a better swap. It turns 18 years of learning how to eat into something anyone can follow in seconds, more energy, fewer cravings, real food over processed.

Just another great day with my boys. They're the soul of the brand: caring, smart, fun, loyal, and attentive.
Here's the honest part: I'm diabetic, but I did not build Bazu for diabetics. Its estimated glucose curve, the feature most people come for, is modeled on a body without diabetes. It would not safely predict mine, so on a diabetic account that one feature simply turns off.
So how does a diabetic use his own app? In diabetes mode, with the estimate off. I still use everything else every day: finding more nutritious products, scoring what I eat, and hitting more protein while I work on putting on weight. My CGM is connected, so I don't need a prediction, I just watch how my real glucose moves with each meal. A non-diabetic app, with one honest, limited mode for people like me.
Named after my dogs, my most loyal companions, Bazu is for anyone who wants to eat with more energy and less guesswork. We're still early, so you might hit a rough edge or two, but you'll have what you need to start eating better today.
Let's make eating well simple, together.
